Richmond Baseball Softball Club HOME
Team Information
The organisation consists of four baseball teams all of which are in different leagues that are separated by levels of baseball experience.

Club General Manager John Walmsley takes the lead role in the organisation, heading the club's committee. John is supported by Treasurer Dan Lally and Club Secretary Bill Varon.

Richmond is the largest adult baseball club in the UK. Whatever your skill level, there is a place for you with the Richmond Baseball & Softball Club. Players at all levels - from rookies to the most experienced - are coached and developed throughout their time with the club.

The Richmond Flames, the original team which the organisation was founded upon in 1992, plays in the National Baseball League. The legacy of past and present players have made the Richmond Flames one of the most respected teams in the country, and after reaching the Final Four playoffs in 2003 they were invited to join the National League, the highest level of baseball played in the UK. The Flames were crowned National Champions in 2006 and we defeated finalists in 2008. Flames' players will have a lot of experience playing baseball and display confidence both at the plate and in the field. Team Manager is Grant Delzoppo, supported by Jesus Gandara and Cody Cain.

The Richmond Knights were founded in 2000 and made great strides in the lower divisions, winning the Division 1 title in 2003. The Knights were consequently promoted to the Premier Division (now AAA) where they have maintained their high performance output. The Knights took the Premier Division South title in 2006. Knights' players have good baseball experience and skill, with some who have developed from the lower teams. Team Manager is Brad Harris.

The Richmond Dragons were founded in 2003. They were originally created to expose new members of the club to more game action and gain experience before moving up to the higher teams in the club. The Dragons are now a competitive team in AA Division as well as a feeder team for the rest of the club. Dragons' players have moderate to reasonable experience and skill. Team Manager is Dan Lally.

The Richmond Riverdogs were founded in 2004, only one year after the Dragons, due to the growing number players joining the club. 2004 saw them playing inter-club and friendly games throughout the season, but in 2005 the Dawgs entered the development division. Riverdogs' players have little or no experience - total baseball rookies will find a welcome and friendly introduction to the game with the Dawgs. Team Captain is John Walmsley.
