| John is Richmond's General Manager. He was elected to the role at the December 2005 AGM. He founded and managed the Riverdogs through their first three seasons 2004-06 (compiling an impressive record of 4 wins and 29 losses). 2008 sees John take back management of the Dawgs, in a non-league format, helping integrate a number of player wholly new to the sport.
Since taking over as GM John would like it to be known the club has won its first National Baseball Championship (Flames September 2006), Premier Championship (Knights 2007) and first London Tournament (July 2007) - but folks still remind him of that Dawgs' record....
John has also overseen the integration of London Angels women's and girls' fastpitch softball into the club (07/08) and the launch of the first youth programme for 6 to 12 year old boys and girls in 2008 - but folks still remind him of that Dawgs' record....
John was elected to the British Baseball Executive Board in February 2007 and serves as its secretary. He's also a board director of BaseballSoftballUK, the twin sports' development agency and is chair of the Joint Diversity Committee covering both baseball and softball.
When not busy running 'things' he can be found mostly coaching, sometimes raking bases, occasionally umpiring and (very rarely) playing a not-too-shabby first base.
John won the 2004 General Manager's Award for overall contribution to the Club (before he became the GM, we hasten to add). |
